In order to expand the scope of this community, this year we will invite a large number of our conference guests through an open call. We welcome artists, programmers, activists, educators, hobbyists from all cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds to submit a proposal for a lightning talk or a session related to one of our themed-tracks this year.
LA-based applicants who work to empower trans, gender non-conforming, disabled, neuro-atypical, P.O.C., or any other underserved communities are especially encouraged to apply. We are looking for applicants who can address art, code, and / or this year’s themes in radical and empowering ways; you are more than welcome but not required to discuss or use Processing / p5.js in your presentation.
We are looking for lightning talk proposals that bring refreshing ideas and engage the community by addressing a particular track. All lightning talks will be live-streamed over the Internet and documented for the Processing Foundation archive.
Each session should address a specific track and run for 45 minutes, and you are in charge of the session format — it can be a workshop, a forum, a group project, a mini-hackathon etc. A session can fill up to 35 people. Please make a note in your application if your proposed session has a limit of attendees.
We will be hosting a PCD @ Los Angeles Online Info Session on August 10, 2018 at 1PM PDT, where track coordinators and PCD organizers go over the themed tracks and answer questions from the community.
If you are in Los Angeles, we will also be hosting a PCD @ Los Angeles Planning Meet-Up on July 14, 2018 from 3 - 5PM. Space is limited, please RSVP on Eventbrite if you plan to attend.
